Q: Difficulty Breathing, Anyone Else?

i'm 7-wk's pregnant. and on occasion, i find it extremely difficult to breathe. it's nearly impossible for me to take a complete deep breath. i have mild asthma, but it's never been an issue for me. once in a while, i've used my albuterol inhaler, as prescribed by my doctor, but even then i still seem to struggle.

has anyone else experienced any sort of breathing problem? chest tightness? etc.

hey i have the same problem. Im 9 weeks pregnant, and for about the last 3 weeks ive been having increasing difficulty breathing. I told my doc yesterday, and she said that often women who are pregnant find it difficult to take a deep breath. Im not convinced with her answer for some reason, and i still suffer from it. I think it may be due breast enlarging for me...it is such a nuisance and i still have no idea why it's happening.

I have had the same issue since about 5 weeks. I am now 7 weeks. I think, for me, it has more to do with excitement and anxiety. I don't typically have any breathing issues.

I do understand what you mean by the difficulty breathing. If you have talked with your doctor about your asthma and that is under control........ then RELAX. I am pregnant with my fifth child and can tell you from experience that the shortness of breath is normal due to the rising levels of hormones and once your body adjust to the hormones you will agian be able to breathe with ease. Of course it will agian retun in the third trimester when the baby gets bigger. Please check with your doctor first about with your astma and like I said if that is under control, the you can relax it will go away in time. Keep looking to the light at the 12 week mark.... alot of the discomforts will go away then.
Good Luck. Wink

I am 5 weeks and I feel short of breath when I exert myself...I hear its normal to an extent. I also have mild Asthma, I think we are more succeptible to that symptoms when a breathing condition is involved.
By the way you look absolutely amazing for 7 weeks. I didnt think anyone showed at 7 weeks, I hope I look like you in 2-3 weeks.

I Know!!
I am only 5 weeks, but I have been experiencing this almost from conception. I thought it was completely unrelated, and maybe it is. I have felt that I cannot get a deep breath in. I was freaking out b/c I thought it was something really wrong!!!

Thanks
I have had shortness of breath weeks six through out 8 so far. I was in great shape prior to this, and my obgyn is sending me to my regular doctor just to check it out. I get breathless walking up the stairs too quickly, which is incrediably unlike me.
