Well, firstly, If you have (or think you have) I.B.S., then you need to set an appt with a gastroenterologist. I had/have I.B.S. It has actually been in remission for a while (luckily). They will put you on some meds that will make your like much easier! They will put you on a fiber supplement. I had I.B.S. with diarrhea and thought they were crazy, but it really did help after a while.

Secondly, If you have I.B.S. w/diarrhea (Or just a very sensitive stomach) It *could* affect your effectiveness. You will definitely need to speak to your doctor about your concerns. After listening to your concerns, they will be the best equipped to tell you if the birth control pill is best for you. You may need to look into other methods of birth control (the patch, ring, or shot) But that is a decision that only your doctor can make. Please do not be embarrassed to discuss your symptoms with your prescribing physician. They have to be aware of everything going on, or they will not have the knowledge that they need to make a decision that is best for you.
