Blood in the feces (rectorrhagia) should be taken very seriously. Hemorrhoids are the most common cause for rectorrhagia but other, more serious diseases such as colon tumors and inflammation have to first be excluded before you're in the clean. A colonoscopy is the most relevant diagnostic procedure for examining the large intestines. You may consult an internist for follow up and to request the diagnostic examinations.
