I know that most babies whine when they don't get what they want, but Ethan does it pretty badly. He will be 10 months old on the 12th. Every time we take something from him, or don't give him something he wants, he has a little tantrum. I just wanted to know if this is normal at this age, and what I can do about it.

Here are a couple of new pictures..

In this one he was getting mad because I wouldn't give him the camera...

so totally normal, dont acknowledge it when he does it that might help him to stop, joseph was like that and throwing himself on the floor, we try to ignore it and so far he doesnt really do it to much anymore.

that's what I was going to say - try to ignore it as much as possible.

other wise you risk him associating a tantrum with attention.

girl...Oni does the *same* thing. It's definately something they try do accoplish at least 20 times a day.

I ignore her. I posted pics the other day under "bookoo pics" and she's cryin cuz I woudn't give her the camera. She like to see the pic I just took of her and say "who dat? dat? dat?"

It's a phase..

Both my kids were the very same.
My eldest started it at almost a year old, between 10 and 12 months anyway, but my younges- 6 months, I kid you not, I took the remote controll off her and she went ballistic, I thought surely she'd not going to start this already.
She did.
She's 16 months now, and has been all sunshine and chubby light the whole time- take something off her though, and it's WAR.

We try to ignore it, when she was smaller, we had too leave the room, 'cos it was so funny to see w=somebody so small getting so furious.
Didn't really help, but Meh.
Now she holds onto your pants if you try to walk away-with her little fat hands, and she's even bitten me a couple of times (although, I think she was teething and it was more a two birds with one stone affair)
Just ignore, give them a dissappointed look, sigh, move on.
The really understand body language.
they may not Care, but they understand!!!!!

Mine did, too. It was so scary at times. He would do it so hard, he would literally leave marks on his head. Luckily that was just a horrible phase.

The hardest thing to do is to not laugh when they throw certain temper tantrums (not the kind they hurt themselves). My little one throws some of the funniest temper tantrums....got to be strong during those times.

.sam, I think that's pretty normal...adriana does that too. She has such an attitude. Lets hope this phase passes soon!

Ethan is so adorable! He's growing up so fast, his baby look is completely gone!
