About 9 months ago, I was diagnosed with mono, and though that has completely passed, I had stomach pains and upon endocopy, was told I had mild gastritis with no sign of H Pylori. I have had several Catscans all negative, blood/stool lab tests all negative and have been prescribed aciphex, How can my stomach do this all of a sudden and last for so long? Anyone else had Gastritis without H. Pylori? Also, I don't drink, don't use aspirin, and am a 22 year old male in good shape. Additionally, I have lost 25 pounds as a result and got tiny gallstones, which are not in any ducts and are supposedly no problem and should require no surgery. Any ideas, suggestions, comments, anything? I'm starting to get frustrated since, I've never been sick and never had surgery and this side pain and digestive issues are becoming quite a handicap.

Hey buddy, I've just been diagnosed with gastritis too. It can be stress, or a number of triggers. Too much acid, such as alcohol, soft drinks, and coffee can all cause it.

At the moment my abdomen feels like I've been doing a million sit ups! I can only eat bland foods and milky foods, and on top of that I've been given an antacid drug called omezeprole or something... I don't have the H. bacteria thing, it's just inflammation of the stomach lining.

I think a number of things can cause this to occur but I don't think it's anything serious to worry about. Hope this helps!
