Q: Painful Cycles?

Have any of you ladies gone off of hormonal birth control to try to become pregnant? If so how were your cycles coming off? I have been in so much pain with heavy, heavy bleeding. I spoke to my doc today and she said that it is completely normal. I asked if it will get better as the cycles progress. She said that sometimes they get better....sometimes they get worse. I have done nothing but cry for two days. I want children more than I can verbally express. But i am felling very upset. I just don't know if I can do this every month. It could take years to get pregnant. Im sorry, I just had to vent to someone who will understand. Crying or Very sad

Painful Cycles
Hi Mc,
I went off the pill in June 2005. I was on the pill for over 10 years. oh yes the periods were really painful, and boom I got pregnant 2 months later. unfortunately I had a m/c due to thyroid problems and them my cycles got even more painful. My doctor gave me a special pain medicine that saved my life. The pain was so bad, I would roll back and forth in pain and tears. Now, as soon as I feel the pain coming, I take the pill only once. It is called Toradol. In fact that is the same pain as m/c. That is how bad it is without this medication. Good luck, and don't worry. All it takes is a pill...

Thank you so much for your response. I will ask my doctor about it tomorrow. It really is one of the most painful things that I have ever experienced. Its funny because i looked it up online before i went off to see what i might experience. No one mentioned this. I am literally crying as I write this. The pain mixed with the mood swings are just insane! Crying or Very sad

Sorry Honey
Remember that it is not a dangerous thing and at least ease your mind there. I remember taking motrin or ever 5 or 6 advils at a time, and even that didn't do it for me until I got that perscription. Take is easy and don't worry. The pain will pass and hopfull next month you don't have to go through this again.
