What are you hoping to achieve with kegels? Stronger ejaculation or more control over your ejaculation?

If you want to do it for holding off ejaculation you should check out my post in the "Who has severe PE? I know I do" thread.

There I mention the possible flaw in PC exercises for treating premature ejaculation. It may be that relaxing the PC is far more pertinent to holding off ejaculation.

That's not to say a stronger PC isn't good, I don't know. It may be that programs that promote kegels have a reason to strengthen your PC to allow better relaxation.

I think that if a program is telling you to strengthen your PC muscles to prevent PE, it better also tell you how to relax it.

I have tried this and i noticed a difference, not a big one but then again i didnt do many/enough exercises. Basically it gives me a little bit more control, and if i try real hard i can hold off ejaculation (try real hard = focus on relaxing the muscle)

I also noticed i can start the 2nd time around quite alot faster, it helps greatly not to contract the pelvic muscle when i ejaculate, just try to fully relax all your muscles, i know the sensation is much less intense but it pays off when your able to start round 2 without having to wait at all

Oh yes. For men, having the ability to relax the kegels can help them to not ejaculate yet. Tightening the muscles can cause almost instantaneous ejaculation if they're close to coming.

Did you follow a program with clear instructions on how to exercise as well as relaxing the muscles?

I'd like to know, because there are so many sites on the internet that seem to give partial answers thinking they're actually helping people. Sites that aim to answer EVERY question, but don't have expertise in ANY area. Such as sites like "Ask Susy Susikins." (No, it's not a real site, but you know what I'm talking about. A person with a problem asks a question, and the column writer answers.)

It seems that some sites suggest that the purpose of exercising the pelvic muscles is to make the muscles so strong that one can cut off the flow of ejaculation like they can cut off the flow of urine. While other sites promote relaxation of these muscles. The site posted above suggests both, but gives very little info. It even suggests that if you can urinate a tablespoon and then hold it for 2-3 seconds and repeat, that you have enough control. I can do this, but I can't hold back ejaculation. In fact those muscles contract involuntarily during ejaculation, so I'm not sure how that's possible. Maybe.

Anyway, what I'd like to know is how does the exercise relate to the relaxation? By having stronger muscles, does it give better relaxation? Seems to me that worked muscles are tense muscles. It also seems that stronger muscles mean stronger contractions, which means faster stimulation to ejaculation.

So I'd like to know if you followed a program that encouraged exercise as well as relaxation, and how stronger muscles equate to better relaxation.

Hello, i didnt follow a particular program, like you i read alot of stuff and i just tried doing exercises as often as it crossed my mind, i think that relaxing those muscles is the only way to stop from PE-ing, i find cutting off the flow impossible since you use those very muscles when you ejaculate, having them tense while ejaculating just leads to a much more intense orgasm and shooting alot farther, if you know what i mean. What i think happened is it helped my self control, to some extent i can delay an erection or ejaculating, especially right after i did these exercises.

I doubt ejaculating works the same way as urinating, nature's goal is to make you ejaculate as fast as possible so implementing a way to stop semen from leaving the body seems highly unlikely, while urinating is a totally different body function wich unless delayed, most of the times...makes a big mess.

So i consider learning how to control yourself and how to properly relax during intercourse is the way to go, it has helped me but not as much as i would have wanted, i'll keep doing these exercises and with time maybe i will reach the desired outcome.

So, do you think that by exercising these muscles you have a better ability to relax them?

Apparently yes, i know that sounds wrong but it's the case for me, maybe its not relaxing the muscle itself, but gaining better control of it, since it's used for ejaculating.
