Im a 17 year old from Wigan, Enland , UK.
Ive just been diagnosed with depression and its causing me to lose lots of weight and im currently 7 stone at 5 ft 6! Finding it really hard to put weight on!

So was just wondering...How do i put weight on with out it all just rushing to my stomach? And also.. How do i gain weight on my legs?! is there anything in particular i could do?

Hey, well first of all make sure your consuming a proper diet. Sounds like your assuming fat is what will make you bigger.

Instead, try some stregth exercises, theres many you can try at home.

Just quickly for your legs:

> on one leg raise you foot off the ground to the balls of your foot. (as many reps as you can 3 sets same as below)
>back on the wall and squat until your legs are at 90 degrees
> if you have a bed have your back on the floor and heels on the bed, then slowly raise your back off the floor.

Never posted a reply on here... hope im doing it right. my only advice for you would be to try some intense exercise combined with a high calorie intake. im not saying to go out and eat a gallon of ice cream a day, but rather eat large amounts of foods which are reasonably healthy for you. lots of complex carbohydrates, etc... and work your butt off at the gym. try lots of repetitions with low weight resistance.

HI,

there is a shake you can drink to gain weight....

it is like regular shake
comes with milk, banana and a special pouder which tastes great just like regular shake... but you don't get results first 4 days... so don't over take because you have to test it for 4 days....

i use it for myself....
ask me how 2 get it : aboutflp@gmail.com

I Had the Same Problem
hey there,, all my life I have been too skinnny and have wanted to gain muscle to get bigger, but it didn't matter how much food I ate, my body burned it right off. I have finally found the solution. I eat a bean salad that has every nutrient the body needs including complete protein, the good fats, carbohydrates and tons of anti-oxidants. This stuff will build real muscle instead of calories blobs. It is made with mixed veggies, black beans, red kidney beans, garlic, and olive oil on top. The corn and beans mixed togeather makes complete protein,, the same that's in meat. I work out a little bit and I seem to bulk right up, I've gained quite a bit of weight since I've started eating this. Also, if you are consistently eating this,, which tastes awsome, u'll notice that your skin clears right up,, your eyes start to really shine and glow,, and you feel super vibrant.. It's awsome,,,,

Ways to put on weight
Lauren, you want to be consuming more calories then what your body requires and it would also be wise to start an exercise program, in particular some form of strength training.

Well
you could try a strength training program which is basically what almost everyone here is saying. Deadlifts and squats, if done properly, will avoid injury and make your legs grow. Make sure you consume X16-X20 times your body weight in calories each day, (EX 100lb person would consume 1600-2000). It's actually a lot harder to eat that amount when you cut back on fatty foods. Try to keep the calorie ratio as 25% of calories from protein, 25% calories from fat, and 50% calories from carbs <

Oh yeah
That amount of calories should be eaten WITH your strength training diet. Make sure you do the essentials such as deadlifting, squatting, bench pressing, rows, dips, and pullups if you can. Regardless of gender, those are the main one's you'd want to focus on to build strength and muscle. Getting fat will not make you look or feel healthier, muscle on the other hand will help with general heath and fitness. PS. there are supplements you can take that will help meet your calorie quotas, just search up a weight gaining shake to take post workout or when you wake up. Good luck!
