Hi. I'm new to the forum, and I was wondering if anyone could help me with my problem.

Before I state my problem, let me just say that I've already looked all over the internet and I'm still not finding the right answers. I found this forum and it looks very helpful, so I'm hoping you guys can help me Smile

Recently I've been getting this white bump on my left tonsil. I started getting it about 5 months ago.

I thought I might have an STD, as I always seemed to get the bump after giving my fiancé oral. But it didn't make sense, concidering I have been giving him oral way before 5 months ago, so why would it just now start happening? Not to mention he only had sex with one woman before me, and she was a virgin. He took my virginity, btw.

So I googled my problem, and came across a lot of forums. They all said pretty much the same thing, it's probally just food. But I tried gargling salt water, I've tried scraping it off. It won't come off and it hurts when I touch it, so I'm pretty darn sure it's not food.

It's gotten worse now. Everytime the bump comes back, it's bigger. At first it was just a little white dot, about the size of the tip of a pencil, now it's atleast 4x the size of that.

At first when I got it, it didn't hurt, it just felt uncomfortable to eat. Now it seems my throat hurts a bit.

So, what could it be? It can't be food. It goes away after 3-4 days, then a week later it comes back, besides, why would it just now be happening? I haven't changed the way I've eaten or anything, and I brush twice a day and gargle mouth wash.

Thanks!

Hi
Just found your question, sorry I couldn't have been here earlier! The little shilte things you call bumps on the back of your throat very well could be "tonsil stones". They are formed by food particles(bacteria) that has accumulated. Some can be scrapped away using a toothbrush. The best thing I have found is gargling with a mixture 1 capful hydrogen peroxide to 1/2 cup water. You may need to rinse a couple more times with plain water to get the taste out, but it works wonders for me! I use to think these were formed from sinus drainage, in which I was told this years ago by a physican, but have recently discovered that was not true. All in all, i just hope this has helped you as I see no one responded! Good luck!
