Hello) I did not try Citalopram but I know that it not only treats depression but also may treat eating disorders, alcoholism, panic disorder, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and even social phobia. It is very good med as far as my familiar doctor sais but you should be sure that it is of High Quality and not a fake)) I do not remember producer exactly but I know that my friend ordered it online and it corresponded to all necessary requirements (http://www.pharmaenergy.com/Citalopram-c- 406.html) you may try it too. by the way I know that ZOLOFT is good as well))hope to be useful to you))

I took Citalopram for about a year in conjunction with BuSpar (buspirone), and Xanax -- as needed, for treatment of Anxiety and Panic Disorder and related issues. I was able to remove the Citalopram from my treatment and only take BuSpar for the remainig Panic Disorder (I will always carry around some Xanax as my little security blanket though I very rarely have to use it). I experienced sexual side effects (decrease in libido) while taking Citalopram but found that Ginko Biloba helped in reducing the sexual side effects. Otherwise my experience with the medication was positive.

The most effective parts of my therapy to date have been cognitive therapy and learning/employing relaxation techniques. I strongly urge you to only start and stop medications with the support of your doctor. Some of my worst periods have been when I stopped medications without consulting my doctor and often developed other problems as a result.

Keep positive!

I have been taking Citalopram for 3yrs together with Beta blockers to help with problems breathing caused by anxiety. I have had no side effects and I no longer struggle to take a deep breath. I am going to the doctors on Monday to ask if I can reduce the dosage with a view to stopping completely. It took some time but they definately worked for me!
Hope this helps Smile
