Q: Help! I Wanna Test!

I'm more tempted to test early this month than I have been in previous months. I'm usually afraid of a bfp and haven't actually tested since October.

The last few days, my temp has been a bit erratic but still above the cover-line. Today's temp is up. My real issue is that I've had light cramps since last Thursday. It is very unusual for me to get cramps more than a day before af. I had similar, though more painful, cramps in December when af came a day late. A part of me wishes I had tested in December so that I'd know whether those cramps meant anything.

If I test tomorrow morning, I'll be testing 2 days early. That's not much. Can anyone talk me out of it?

Talk you out of it...girl I want to know! I say go for it. You may be disappointed if you get a bfn. But like you said it is two days early. So I think that you should take one in the morning. Then if that doesn't work out take one on Friday morning. But on the other hand .. what if it turns out a bfp?!?! there seams to be a lot of them going around. I'm so impatient. Good luck.. let us know asap!

Sorry for the delay.

Yes. I tested this morning. It was a bfn. Sad

My temp was way down this morning before I tested, so the bfn wasn't a big surprise.

I'm paranoid that something is wrong with me and making us infertile. This is the second time I got early cramps since we started ttc. Before ttc, I would never get cramps more than a day ahead of af and sometimes I wouldn't get cramps until after af started.

At least when I go back to the doctor next month, I will have the bfn following the cramps. My doctor said that if I'm not pregnant by my appointment next month, she'll give me a referral to a fertility specialist.

My cramps were so painful this morning that when they would come, I'd have to stop what I was doing and squeeze something until they would pass. I only had Motrin with me, so I didn't take any pain killers. When af starts, I'll get out the Pamprin.

I was going to send a quick note this morning, but our modem was acting up. I hope everyone else is doing well.

Aww..Honey, i'm sorry. But, You never know. You still have ..is it 1 or 2 days till your due? Don't give up hope until af rears her ugly head. My mom said that she knew that she was pregnant with me when a few days before her period was due she started having cramping. She said that it was not like normal period cramps. She described them as contraction like. Said that they would stop her in her tracks. Not to get your hopes up, just to give you something to keep in mind. And if AF does show, well, at least you have an appt set with someone who may be able to shed some light. Thats a good thing, many doctors will just continue to put you off Rolling Eyes

I wish you the best...and keep us updated!!

Also, just so you know that you are not alone. I am having horible pains! to the point that i had to take a vicodin and soma when I finally got home from work. The pain was so bad earlier that I threw up twice at work. This morning I began bleeding very heavily! to the point that i am going though a super tampon every 45min to 1hr. accompanied with large clots (sorry tmi) Definitely not fun! If this is what it will be like monthly not being on bc...I don't know that I will be able to do it Crying or Very sad

Hopefully it is just your body adjusting to not being on bc. Watch the Vicodin. I know people who have gotten addicted. I find that Midol and Pamprin work pretty well during af, but I don't always need them. I only take them when I think it interferes with my ability to function or my appearance. I probably takes more than a year to go through a bottle of 20.

Since I've been temping, I've had 13 day luteal phases in every cycle. Today is 12 dpo. That puts me 2 days early. But my temp has been so erratic, I decided to prepare myself for an early af.

Tomorrow, I have a busy day at work and then class after work. Hopefully, that will keep me from getting too emotional.

In regards to the temping(I have read some on it but would not consider myself well educated on the matter) Have you been feeling well? Everyone I know is ill in one way or another. If you are sick or you body is fighting an infection, that would probably account for your temps being erratic. But, like I said, I'm not well educated on the matter. Just reaching for some hope. (I have a tendency to do that) Laughing

No, I'm not sick. I've been trying to figure out what it could be related to. In addition to being sick, I've read that it could be affected by amount of sleep, quality of sleep, time of day, breathing through mouth or nose, drinking, exercise. I've had some temp drops following days with more exercise, but not always. Plus, I exercised less than normal yesterday. I'm not drinking. The temp changes don't line up well with nights of bad sleep or when I sleep in. I have no idea if I'm breathing through my mouth or nose at night.

I think these can affect small day to day changes. At the end of my last cycle, I also had temps that went up and down by a lot relative to other times of the cycle. I wonder if it is just normal for my body or if it signals something else. Here is my chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/17d324 .

I suggest you do anything, anything at all, to take your mind away from testing. It's killing me. I go out, I buy the expensive first response ones, and then - nothing.

Does anyone else feel like sobbing when they get a bfn? I do...
Everytime I get one, I say to myself "Man... I should have just not tested at all..."

Maybe I'll be able to restrain myself until the suggested time next month, and save a lil cash on the extra tests lol.

Good luck!

Yes. It is very tempting to test early. Usually it is the thought of how depressed I'd feel with a bfn, plus the expense of the test, that keeps me from testing early.

Lately, I've been feeling like there is something wrong with me that is causing the infertility. Plus, the early cramps are unusual for me. Taking the test feels like something that I can check off the list when I see the doctor again.

A lot of women feel sad either with a bfn or with the onset of af. If af would make you just as sad as a bfn, then you really only need to consider the cost of purchasing more tests. But if you find the bfn harder to take, then try to hold out until af is late. If you can't, it only proves you're human!

BTW, welcome to the forum and good luck ttc! Baby dust!
