From what I know, washing probably helped just because a virus may not be able to react that fast.
HPV-I am young and I have HPV myself...genital warts and all through masterbation. Genital Warts will appear on the flesh three to four months after receiving the HPV virus. They appear as little bumps of flesh on the penis. Mine first infected me on the Scrotum and moved its way up but they can appear anywhere on or even around the organ. The bumps would probably itch, burn, or mabye even bleed but they shouldn't leak puss (that would be Genital Herpes). The body should clear the infection after a year and a half (according to online sources) but I have had mine for almost two years and it is still spreading. You can treat the warts (surgery, medication, creams) but they may show up again because it doesn't kill the virus. I myself am unclear on how long the virus stays in the body but I do know that it is uncurable.
Mental and Social Health- HPV and genital warts has had a hard effect on your mental health and social life. I have been more distant from people since I have contracted the virus and it ruins your self-confidence (by the way, aside from the warts another symptom that is often overlooked is penis size reduction. My organ was 6 inches long in 7th grade and shrunk to 5 by High School, and this was when I was growing). As for your mate, I would avoid any sexual contact with your partner and if I were you, I would halt sexual activity completly until your immune system is more developed. I obtained the virus through no sexual contact with another person but through masturbation, so you decide whether it is worth the risk. If you do obtain the virus then I am very sorry. Feel free to make another reply on this forum if you have anymore questions and I will get around to you.
