Q: Any Advice/information About Dealing With Genital Warts

i was recently diagnosed with hpv, along with the strain that causes genital warts. I had them frozen off that day and it has been about 3 weeks since my visit. The initial warts went away within days, but now the area is starting to get red, irritated, and itchy again. I have also noticed the irritation spread. My boyfriend and I have had sex since I was treated, once the warts had gone away and I was feeling better. I know that recurrances are common but is sexual activity a factor in whether or not they will return? It is just so frustrating and I am doing everything I was advised to do. The doctor said that since my boyfriend has it now it there isn't much need for protection since we could pass it at any time. I have been on the pill for months, hence the no protection factor.

If anyone could share their experience in this area I would greatly appreciate it! I'm looking for any advice, other possible treatments, especially things to help ease along the healing process. My sex life with my boyfriend is important to me and I am hoping that it will be back to the way it used to be in time.

Thanks!

Hey, me and my girlfriend(at the time) got hpv last year, only being 16 it was rough, alot of crying and emotional feelings to deal with, specially since I couldnt tell my parents. My girlfriend has been treated and had surgery on her cervix and had to quit smoking. There are 3 shots you can take to immunize yourself from, though I dont think there covered by insurance and the total price is over 300$. Iv been treated but they seem to keep on coming back. The only two treatments that are common is freezing them off or using a chemical to burn them off. There is also surgery and such but I am not familiar with this process. Good luck to you and your boyfriend
