I just started taking birth control recently I have only been taking it for about 3 weeks and I'm not suppoust to get my period till this coming wendsday and on friday I started to spot and now I have what seems to be my period with the cramps and everything..and I'm so worried because me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex 3 days ago ( he pulled out)..and I dont know if this is just because I just started taking my birth control. Because I called my doctor and they said my body may take awhile to even out the cycle but then she said.."if you see anymore signs of pregnecy you should take a test." and I'm worried and wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

i'd have to say that if your period is late then you should take a test. I might take a while for the bc to set in and get your cycle on tract....so until it's late don't worry about it. take a test a 2 or two after it's late. if it comes up neg then keep taking your bc and it should regulate.

good luck

Take a test if you miss. However, the symptoms you describe don't sound like pregnancy symptoms to me, they sound like your body is just trying to adapt to the pills.

I agree with Eiri. Those sound like symptoms of your body getting used to the hormones in the pills more than anything else. The pill is very effective when taken as directed, even if you don't use any other form of birth control, and even if he does not pull out. Taking a test doesn't hurt though, so go for it if you are really wondering, especially if you have missed any pills or anything like that.
