hey,
i was just wondering about a few things. I'm 17 yrs old and i'm not on birth control but my last 2 periods i've been getting extremely painful cramps. I honestly don't think theyve been this bad. also, ive been pretty stressed out. my dad and i get into a lot of big fights and i know it's taking a toll on my stomach too. i'm about 3 days late for my period this month and all the things that cause it to be late sometimes ive done.. i lost some weight and changed my diet, im stressed out...all that fun stuff.. i was wondering if birth control helps any of this? i know of one of my friends was put on it because her period was lasting too long and her cramps were really bad. i'm just unsure what to do but i'm tired of my stomach almost always bothering me... if anyone can help, thanks : )

My first periods weren't painful but as I got older and was in mid-highschool they became very painful. I dealt with them for years until I went on birth control in college; now they're nearly gone! Compared to the nausea, puking and diarrhea-inducing pain I'd expereinced for so many years, the mild cramps I have now sometimes go unnoticed lol.

I definately know it helps. I was someone whom pamprin barely touched. Cramps would make me lose a whole day of classes, vomit, and writhe in intense pain for hours on end.
