Q: Weird Period?

Hi there. Well, for the last year I was on the Copper T IUD. My periods have always been regular but my last one in January was 9 days late. Then my most recent one came exactly 21 days from the last one. My periods on the Copper IUD were heavier but it was consistent. Now I am on day 8 of this period, I have had clots (which are not normal for me) and cramps still today! On Thursday I ended up going to the ER because I thought maybe something was wrong with my IUD. They did an ultrasound, preg test and took my IUD out for me. They couldnt tell why it was irregular. They prescibed me progesterone in case it didnt stop. It's not heavy now, but the weird thing is it comes and goes throughout the day and the clot thing too and really bad lower back cramps tonight. I also have a pain over my left ovary but its not bad.
What could this be?
What would the ultrasound have ruled out?
I just need some advice.
(I'm 26 and have 3 children, overweight, but otherwise good health)

Maybe built up stuff in your uterus , im not sure, they might not have seen it by ultrasound cuz you passed alot of clots before . But i dont really know thats just my opinion based on what you said. If it continues id def be going back because if u bleed for too long you can become weak and stuff and thats not good either.
