Wrong Seizure Diagnosis
I was diagnosed with epilepsy 20 years ago and put on medication. I never felt right on the medication. I continued to have some symptoms and seizures began to get worse after awhile. I even went through anxiety and depression issues. I also started having twitches and spasms. I didn't want to up my meds. I went to a new neurologist. He looked through all of my medical history. He never saw an EEG that actually showed neurological seizure activity. He scheduled a new one. I thought I had a mild one during the EEG. The following weekend I ended up in the hospital with multiple seizures. I had one in front of him. He told me I was not have epileptic seizures. I was having a panic attack in the form of a pseudo seizure which is the way my body handled the stress. I came off the medication I was on for 15 years. I am finally feeling much better on anti-anxiety meds. I haven't had a seizure in 3 years. I read that the medication I was on actually made my anxiety/depression worse.
So go with your gut feeling and get a second opinion.
