Our Picture Fiasco..
Posted: 03-03-07 09:23am

So lastnight we had our appointment at K-Mart to get Kaylee's pictures taken.. We got there a little bit early & still got stuck waiting for about a half an hour before we got in. Kaylee was soo happy when we first got there, she was smiling & looking all around. We *finally* got called in to get the pictures done & the photographer was a health forum...She wasn't a baby person at all & all Kaylee did the whole time everytime Shane or I would put her down was scream.. Keep in mind..Kaylee is *always* happy unless her teeth are hurting her/belly ache.. something along those lines.. But she wasn't liking the photographer at all & I wasn't blaming her. Finally after about 20 minutes of trying to get a good picture, we managed to get one good one of Kaylee in just her diaper laying on her back playing with her feet. We rescheduled for Wednesday, so we'll see how it goes then. All I know is we're never going back there again after we get these pictures. The lady was just downright rude...

id be soo mad, the whole point of making appointments is so your not sitting around waiting, id find a place that does alot more baby pictures, i didnt like walmart when they did my sisters daughters pics, they turned out really crappy looking. and it took so long to get them done that tristen fell asleep so most of the pics she was sleeping so it was a total waste of money

I'm not sure if all .K-marts do them, ours just has a little room that's next to the fitting rooms. Not professional at all, the way my one friend talks them up I thought it was going to be alot better.. I wasn't impressed though Neutral

I would have been mad. I think it all depends on the person taking the pictures and not necessarily the place. I had pictures done and JC Penny's and the woman was horrible. She was not a baby person either. Actually, I don't think she was a people person. She wanted to be quickly done with picture taking so she can have a smoke. It ticked me off.

I always thought JC Penny's and Sears cost the same. Is that not true?? Our package really wasn't that cheap. It wasn't as inexpensive as Walmart. Macysmama?? What are you talking about??? Some of us don't know what you do. Please tell.

I have only see Kiddie Candid's in Arizona but I love that place!!!! I heard Picture People are good, too. I am sure that they really make sure that the people they hire are baby and kid people....

well walmart and jcpenney are all controlled by buttons. all the worker does is press a button and the backdrop they want comes down and the camera moves. at sears out camera is on a tripod thing so we control moving it and have to squat and stand repeatedly to accomodate the pose. then we have to onroll and setup every background. plus the work of getting the kid/s to smile. its a .L.O.T of work. most of the time we have to get down on the ground to show ppl how we want them. I had one lady say "geez with all the moving ya do youd think youd be skinnier!"

I've had .adriana's pics done once at wal-mart and I was not impressed. The lady was terrible and .adriana hated her. She was not at all kid friendly. So we've been true to JcPenney's since then. We are 1,000% satisfied with their pics, they have always turned out great and the people are our Penneys are wonderful, and very kid friendly. I'll never go anywhere else!

Macysmama!! I can't believe someone would even say something like that. How did you handle your composure??? It would take all of my strength to just not go off. It does sound like you work very hard at getting good pictures. Too bad we don't live near you!!! We would go to you to get some great pics developed.

Our .k-mart experience went perfectly. Michelle, if she's having trouble when you sit her down - .alyvia is the exact same way - ask .shane to sit beside her, and then stand beside the photographer as close to the camera as you can get. And go ".kaylee!" and make silly noises or whatever she likes. Try to do it while she's still whining and before she starts crying. It has a better chance of distracting her. She'll probably smile at a familiar face! That's the only way we got .alyvia to smile, and our photographer was nice and was trying to ring bells and make noises at her. She wasn't having any of it - she wanted her .mommy. So yeah, try that! You'll probably get much better shots!
