I have had bad breath for a couple of years now... I know for a fact that is smells like poo. I think the cause of it is my tongue which has a white colour. But i cant seem to get rid of it nomatter what i do... Ive tried using hydrogen peroxide, anti-fungal tablets, heaps of that disgusting chinese herbal stuff and daktarin oral gel... I have to brush my teeth properly because i have braces and i scrape my tongue 2 times a day but the whiteness always grows back.

Anyone have any thoughts that might help me? Im a teenager and ive been really embarrased about this for a while. Any help would be appreciated...

watch the amount of can foods you eat..... bad breath comes from the stomach. Of course, garlic, onions. You should use alcohol free (crest pro health) mouthwash...... alcohol based will make it worse in the long run (lysterine) This is what a dentist told my bestfriends husband =)...good luck.

Well since you have braces im assuming you visit your dentist/orthodontist periodically, you need to have that looked at. If it wsa that big of a problem I would think your dentist would have noticed it at your last braces aptmnt.

oh well i dont really have garlic or onions i hate them both and all the doctors have told me its not a problem... as in it wont hurt me, but it still does make it harder for me to talk to people without trying to breath in at the same time.

Whiteness on the tongue is often a sign of Candida, a yeast overgrowth. Research it and it's treatment. It will usually combine herbs/garlic/caprylic acid, etc. to kill the candida, diet recommendations and a probiotic (beneficial bacteria) supplement to prevent it from coming back.
