I have a relative, she is 57 years old, lately being diagnosed with
colorectal adenocarcinoma (intestinal cancer) with the histology report
showing signet cells, it was diagnosed in Nov 2006, and treatment was
started in December. The disease was found to be advanced growth in the
sigmoid and rectum with wide spread peritoneal metastases, but CT scan
has
not showed significant spread to the lungs and liver. It¡¦s stage 3 or
4
according to the oncologist. She has been followed up by surgery
(resection
of the primary foci) and chemotherapy started in December.
With recent scan showing few new enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes, with
the
largest at 3.5cm.
Do occurrences of the new lymph nodes mean that it¡¦s not being
controlled?
Are there any other alternatives in colorectal carcinoma treatment,
like
herbal or other methods, rather than palliative treatment? Hope to have
your
precious comments...
