Trace has been taking a few steps here and there and then falls. he has been doing it for like 2 weeks..just wondering at what point did your babies actually walk after this. someone told me a month and someone else said like 2, so i just want to hear the "average" lenght of time by combining your guys' answers. its just so crazy seeing him take steps because i still think of him as my little baby, but he is not anymore Sad
he's a big boy!

you should know it's not good to compare babies...

Yay Trace! How old is he now? I always think of him as being younger than he is, I think.

I don't know the answer to your question, I guess he'll walk when he's ready.

aww his first steps! I don't have a baby, but my mom told me that me and my brother both started walking at 8 months.

I can't remember if you've ever posted anymore pics, but does he still have his little mohawk?

You can help your child along with holding their hands while they are walking around the house, this will help with their co-ordination and in turn help with their confidence to walk thus speeding up the process.

I dont think anyone can tell you how long or even roughly how long because like everything else, it depends on the child.

Congratulations on reaching this milestone!!

this isnt a matter of "whats good" .
im asking because im excited and i have never had a baby so i dont know what to expect after they take their first steps. every book i have read says they all develop at their own pace which i am perfectly aware of, but i see nothing wrong with getting an "average" from people on this board for my curiosities sake.

9.5 months. yeah i know.
i was just curious about your guys's babies, cause i never had a baby and im curious about the time span on average, like could be 1 month or could be 10 months?? ( little extreme), but you get my drift.

are you serious?

What if I say 2 weeks, and .D says a month. And someone else says tomorrow?

You, of all people, know that comparing the rate of advancement from one child to another, is a huge no no. You'll only let yourself down if it takes longer than what you're "expecting".

An average isn't going to tell you anything. My mother said I started stepping at 9 months and didn't walk until 15 months. But I talked using real words at 9 months.

then that would be answering my question and i would say thank you.

i had no idea., i didnt know if someone would say 6, or 7 months, cause then my mindset would be a lot different and i wouldnt be all excited about him walking soon.

der.

see thank you, that also gives me an idea that its not necessarily going to be anytime soon, so i shouldnt necessarily get my hopes up.

I love Trace's name..There is a little boy who lives next door to my mom & his name is Trace, he's a cute little guy..I'm trying to put a face to the name but I don't know if I've ever seen pics of him Confused But anyway..Yayy for the walking, sorry I can't help you..Kaylee isn't even close to that point yet.
