Q: Anti-depressants During Pregnancy?????

What anti-depressants are safe during pregnancy??

I'm on Efexor-xr (for depression).

My hubby and I are hoping I fall pregnant soon. But I'm worried these drugs might possibly harm the baby???

I tried to wean off these drugs last year and it made me really suicidal. I feel a lot stronger now than I did then. BUT I am still nervous and scared about weaning off them again!

I'd prefer to stay on them or change to a different type of anti-depressant that is safe for pregnancy.

Each different website seems to say different things! One wesbite says they are safe for pregnancy, other websites say they aren't?!?!

Can anyone give me any info please??

I'm totally confused!!

You should consult your doctor. Let them know you are thinking of having a baby and would like to take a medicine that's safe for pregnancy. They should be able to help you.

Good luck!

Anti-depressants are not always recommendable. They might have side effects and this is my personal thoughts.Better consult your doctor.

In my country we use Eglonol. It helps to increase your milk flow as well. I want to suggest that you ask your doctor to prescribe it, as it worked liked a charm for me. (I had 2 suicide attempts during my pregnancy before my doctor prescribed it)
Try it for two or three months before you fall pregnant. It will give your body time to get rid of the other medication too.
Good luck, and keep us posted!
