My opinion is nothing is better than the natural lube produced by the woman...
Menopause is a drying time for some women and less so for others...
I know a couple of post-menopause women who lubricate sufficient for satisfying intercourse but only after penetration so a little lube is needed just to get things started - nothing worse than trying to turn a woman on by touching a dry clitoris. Applying the lube very slowly a tiny bit at a time is a turn-on all of its own.
Another 70 year old woman told me she still lubricates like a teenager...
We have tried water based lubes but we don't like them.
We have tried an oil based lube and a warming lube but mostly we find Vaseline works well for us and on a practical level it is cheap and easily available wherever in the world you are and provides a little protection against some minor infections...
A sprinkle of water over the petroleum jelly or add some saliva and it gives a completely different feel

A complete lack of natural lubrication might be a sign of other causes so a visit to the medic for a check-up might be in order...
Taking anti-histamines does tend to dry all the mucus membranes, as do some other medications...
