I'v ehad the IUD in for a year and this period has bright red blood and I have gone through at least 8 filled regular tampons in the past 24 hours. I dont remember if i've had this on previoud months and I'm just freaking out now or what. please help

Okay well, for most tampons you're supposed to change them once every 2-4 hours anyway, so 8 in one day is right about where you should be, if not a little on the heavy side of flow. Iuds are known to increase the heaviness of periods. If you are not experiencing any additional pain or severe discomfort, I wouldn't get too worried unless this goes on for more days than your normal period.
