I had a lot of problems when I started the combined pill, one of which was constant headaches. It was established that it was the oestrogen that wa causeing this and so my doctor changed me to the mini-pill so it may be that using a progesterone only method of contraception (mini pill/depro-provera/implanon/mirena) may help.

You are being silly. There is nothing to dislike or fear from doctors, they are there to help you!

Go, get checked, and start feeling better!

No no no no no. Did he tell you that it is estrogen that is causing the headaches? Untill, he can tell you a definite as to what is causing the headaches, you should *not* get the shot. It is not reversable. So you can not simply stop taking it if you have a bad reaction. You should probably try going off hormonal birth control all together and see if that changes you headaches. Then go from there.

This is just my opinion.

Yea my doc did say that she thinks its the estrogen giving me the headaches, so they gave me a pill with low estrogen in it Mercilon.

I can not have large amounts of estogen as well. I started on depo. I hated it. Horribly. However, everyones experience is different. I then went to Avaine it is a low dose pill as well. My next option was something non hormonal. (which defeated the entire purpose) Have you concidered trying a diaphram or maybe Mirena (sp?).?
