I started taking microgynon 30 on the first day of my period. It says that if you take it this way your immediantly protected and dont have to use any other methods of contreception. I had unprotected sex on day 3 of taking it-i was still on my period also-and then from day 9 of taking it...are the chances of pregnancy unlikely?? Am I just being paranoid? I feel unwell...just a bit sick and constipated Sad im due to take my last pill of the pack today...please help its appreciated so much x

If started on the first day of your period then you are covered straight away. Try not to worry, the combined pill is almost 98% effective so the chances of pregnancy are very slim!

I just feel so scared. Its my first time on the pill too so does that make a difference? I never forgot to take it. I take it at 4:30pm each day...does time matter?

TIme does matter but more so if you're on the mini pill - with the combined pill provided you take it within 12hours of your supposed time then you will still be protected (although best to take it at the same time).

It does not matter whether this is your first time using birth control pills, you will still be protected. If you are very worried maybe try using condoms too until you are more confident about using microgynon (ALTHOUGH this would purely be back up method as, by taking the pill correctly and at the same time you are potected so the chances of pregnancy are slim)
