Don't give up, you can do it! It's going to be hard but take your time and do it the healthy way. Don't consider starving yourself, that would be entirely the wrong way of going about it.
Last year I lost 65 lbs, I've tried so many things in the past. Weight Watchers, LEARN (a program at the local hospital), and I also saw a nutritionist one on one. There are many things out there you may justhave to try a few before you find one thats right for you.
Weight watchers cost different prices depending on your location. I know the meetings I attended were $9 per meeting. I didn't have much luck with this but like I said, it might be whats right for you. I saw a nutitionist a few times which helped because it was one on one and you were held totally accountable for everything. Lastly, the Learn program was a 12 week program that was offered at the hospital, it cost $275 which is expensive but eventually led to my weight loss and I personally would've paid twice as much because losing the weight changed my life tremendous. I'm not sure how widely spread the LEARN program is but look around your area and see what they offer.
If you can't find a program that works for you just remember to eat right and exercise. I have found that measuring my portions helped ALOT! If you can't afford an expensive program, at least consider investing in a $5 food scale, they definately come in handy. Make sure you are also getting a variety of foods, do not limit yourself from anything..if you want chocolate then eat it or else you'll splurge later! You can find thing very low calorie to satisfy your sweet tooth or other snacking craves (If you need any ideas just let me know and I can come up with a list of things!). You could also try to eat your biggest meal in the morning, or eat several small meals..these are both tricks that have helped people before. Once you have your diet under control keep up the exercise. Cardio is the best for calorie burning but you should also do moderate weight training a few times a week. I don't know much about the machine you said you use but you could also try just taking a walk or jog around the neighborhood (if the weather is nice enough!) or maybe look into a local gym. If you want something you can do in your house try getting some exercise dvd's or videos. I have used things such as the FIRM and different dance aerobics, they can be quite fun if you give them a shot.
