I found these and thought they were really pretty

i am a mother after all
i am expecting
a special surprise
people offer advice,
but yet criticize.

I may be still young
and not yet a wife,
but that doesn't mean
i can't bring a new life.
I've learned what it means
to be a mother,
and of all the jobs in the world
i would choose no other.

I nurture this child
living within me,
feeding him and caring for him
with his every need.

He is something
that I call truly mine,
and when he gets here
everything will be just fine.

God is sending me
a gift from above,
showing me
the meaning of true love.
I can hardly wait
for my baby so small,
knowing that
i am a mother...After all.

my son nickolas
when the doctors handed me the papers
that said I would be expecting a daughter or a son
i knew how much my life would change
and how it was the end of all my fun

just turning eighteen and barely out of school
i knew I had a big responsibilty ahead
so instead of staying out late to party with friends
i got my life straight and by eleven I was in bed

then I saw your little body move
and your fist balled up for the first time
and in that sonogram room looking at my son
i slowly began to cry

i knew the next nine months
would be the hardest they could be
with all the changes my body was making
the biggest and best change was the growth of my belly

i would not change anything in the world
now that you are here
i am ready for all you bring me
ready for all the shed tears

i knew how much you would mean to me
i gave the rest of my childhood up for you
but that is the responsibility I have chosen
that is what a new mom is supposed to do!

my beautiful makaya
when I wasn't even sure if it was true,
i had already begun to love you.

When the doctor said "yes, you are,"
i knew you would be my little star.

When I felt those little flutters inside me,
i knew that you and I were meant to be.

When I saw my tummy grow and grow,
i knew forever and ever I would love you so.

When you were ready to come to me,
i prayed I would be the best mommy I could be.

When I saw your face and held you close
i realized your life is what I cherish the most.

You light up my life makaya leigh and
my precious angel you will always be.
