okay. I'm a 17 year old musician. I sing and play music. Recently though I lost my voice. I got it back within a week. But about three days ago I lost it again! I've gone through puberty, my voice has changed, I don't smoke. I just can't think of a reason my voice would do this. I've drank tea and water, and lemon and honey. I sing in a very high pitched voice (like rush or boston) and I just haven't been able to get up that high. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Shocked

Have you been sick lately? This is the most common cause of laryngitis. Or maybe you need to rest your voice for awhile.

Re: Losing Your Voice
It sounds like you are straining your vocal chords. I would take it down a little in the high notes. Good luck.

I sing and speak to public and loose my voice very often too. I searched about it. And read an article from a rock star. You know how much they are screaming at their concerts. He said if you are loosing your voice you are singing incorrectly. The article said if we use our vocals correctly we shouldn't be loosing our voices. I try to warm up as much as I can. I still loose my voice. But not as often as before.

VOICE LOSS REMEDIE
tjsmith22 - The best thing for a singer to use to heal the throat is a tea made by "Traditional Medicine" and it is called "Throat Coat". Boil the tea bag and along with it add some spearmint leafs ( you can grow your own effortlessly), steep the tea as the directions say and then add a teaspoon of honey and a few drops of real lemon juice. It will heal your voice faster then you can turn around. Throat coat is used by alot of professional singers. I use it everytime I loose my voice. Also please see a Ear Nose and Throat specialist to make sure there is nothing more serious going on. You could have some nodules growing in there. Also when this happens, be sure to rest your voice and don't talk until it heals well. Allergies can also effect you, so something else to check out with an allergist. If you smoke, quit!
