The last couple of months I've been having very short periods. This may be good, but lead me to inserting Nuvaring right after my period stopped. Does this increase risks by much? Does it make Nuvaring fail? Must know!
Thanks!

Regardless of when your period stops shouldn't you be taking it out and waiting 7 days to reinsert the next?? I've used nuvaring in the past and for example I inserted my very first ring on a Sunday. I kept it in for 3 weeks and took it out on the 3rd weeks sunday. Middle of week I'd get my period or at times not even until Saturday. Regardless I HAD to put a new one in 7days from the time I took the prior ring out. So I would have had to put a new ring in that Sunday even if I was still on my period. Im afraid the way it sounds like you are doing it that you may not be protected from pregnancy.

No no no, she's not lowering the effectiveness!

I assume she's starting her period sooner in her off-week than you do, and so she has several "blank" days after her period is done, but the new on-week hasn't started yet, so she's putting a new ring in sooner - ie she's off the ring for less than 7 days.

Honestly, I see no problem with it. You'll use more rings a year with way, but other than that, it doesn't seem uhealthy! It will not decrease the effectiveness.

Gotcha........I must have gotten a bit confused the way it was worded. As long as the ring you have in hasn't been used for more than an extra week (ie: in for 4 wks total) because I can imagine you'd have to have the ring in for more than 3wks if your period is so short. If it is in for more than 4 wks total it is not as effective.
