Q: Could This Be An Std???

Twelve days ago I went to the doctor because of an intese burning sensation in my vagina. The doctor had given me a presrciption (a one time pill) for a yeast infection with out doing an examination.I had also assumed it was a yeast infection.I went back 3 days later with still the same symptoms for a second opinion from another doctor. The doctor did the examination and found that I had yellow discharge comming from my cervix, and that it may be some sort of std or a bacterial infection. About a month and a half ago my b/f and I were having sex and the condom slipped of his penis and ended up inside of me...I pulled out the condom afterward.
The doctor took a swab and gave me a prescription for Metronidazole. It is now 2 days later and I am awaiting the test results.I still have a burning sensation that keeps getting worse and I have a frequent urge to urinate. No bad odor and a slight discharge which is yellow and sometimes white.

Any ideas as to what this could be?Chlamydia?(my boyfriend of 3 years cheated on me 5 months ago) Sad

Has anyone else had these symptoms? HELP!

You'll know what it is when the tests get back; diagnosing stds over the internet is exptremely hard.

Until then, cranberry juice may or may not help with the burning. It helps for normal uti's, perhaps it can be soothing in this case as well.

Went Back to the Doctor...
Thank you Eiri for relying.

Went back to the doctor today. My test results haven't come back yet.I was in a great deal of pain,so the doctor told me to come in again. He examend me again and said that my vagina looks healthy to him and referred me to a gyno in the same building right that moment(must have been my lucky day).Gyno took a look...and another swap and said everything looked healthy down there aswell. He did not notice discharge.I will have my results in 4 days.

Would a doctor be able to tell upon visual inspection if a patient has chlamydia?
If this is not an std...what else would cause the yellow discharge the first doctor had seen comming from my cervix? ,and the horrible burning sensation? Ahhh help!

I have googled my brains out looking for answers and am having no luck.

It honestly sounds like you have a uti, not a vaginal infection. So, for now all you can do is wait! orh perhaps get tested for a uti somehow?

It does sound like Claymidia a little but who knows but the doctor..Also tell your boyfriend to wear the snugger fit condoms instead of wearing the bigger ones cuz that doesn't help you if he's cheated before and the condom falls off in you that makes you able to catch something from his cheatin blank. If he cheats leave him alone too because don't put yourself at risk everytime you have sex..And to that note you shouldn't have sex while you hav a yeast infection or a bacteria infection all that does is cause warth with makes yeast/bacteria grow more rapidly and spread...Im sorry to hear what's going on n all but you have to worry about you n men can have yeast infections too...Soo you both need to get check because if he did or does give you something you both need to be treated or you'll get it again..Good luck this is just my opinion..

And to that note you shouldn't have sex while you hav a yeast infection or a bacteria infection

It was a month and a half prior that we had sex.

tell your boyfriend to wear the snugger fit condoms instead of wearing the bigger ones

He is by no means small...sometimes condoms slip off when the man's erection goes down.I have spoken to girlfriends who have experienced the same thing.

If he cheats leave him alone too because don't put yourself at risk everytime you have sex...

I have forgiven him for cheating,I am using condoms to reduce my risk.

I am no longer concerned that this is an std,due to the fact that my std tests came back negative.

I'm sticking with IC.Going to go to a urologist. Thanks for your support everyone Cool

Im happy to hear that your ok and everything worked out fine. Penises come in all shapes and sizes and to me I could care less the size of it but thanks for letting me know about if a guy loses his erection that could happen I never knew that. So I learned something. Im also happy that you are using condoms to lower your risk Very Happy. that's cool you forgave him because some people deserve a 2nd chance. Life is about forgiving because people make mistakes. Congratulations that your test came back negative and your feeling alot better. Smile Take care of yourself Coffeegiel and keep your head up..

I do!!!!!! I drink at least 3 large coffees a day...and lots of pop too (hehe we call it pop instead of soda)

When I was diagnosed with IC before it went into remission,I remember that coffee and pop and anything acidic (including cranberries) killed me.

Cuz I know my pee burns n bladder hurts sometimes when I don't consume enough water/juice a day...

Really??? Maybe that could be why (I can't remember that last time I had a glass of just plain water)

Today I'm going to drink lots of water and see if it helps (as soon as this coffee is done!!)

Thnk u so much Laughing

If you don't like tapwater get a Brita Water filter it makes the water really clean. 100% Grape juice can be used too instead of cranberry juice. That's why your name is coffeegirl oh ok. Sorry girl but your gonna have to cut it down to 1 cup of coffee a day. And did you know if you drink 1 can of soda a day you will gain 12% of body fat a year. There's many other options like Propel water,Gatorade, milk but the caffiene like coffee, soda, tea has gotta give sweetheart. Also if you use coffee as energy everyday...Buy that Energy 1 a day vitamin that should help alot...good luck girl
