Q: Also New to Nuva Ring............

I started the Ring about 4 days ago - I know I should have read up on side effects before starting (dr. didn't tell me any Confused ). But, after reading all of the side effects that women are having from it (depression, loss in sex drive, hair loss) I'm wondering if I should just take it out.

I haven't done well on BCs in the past - shots or pills. I get too emotional or dizzy spells. I wanted to give this one a go to see how it'd do. Main reason is to have regular periods. Also, going to see my boyfriend next month and wanted to make sure that I didn't have my period while I was there. Any suggestions? Should I stay on it and see how I do?

You could stay on it and see how you do. Not everyone is going to have those side effects. Even if you have had bad luck with birth control before, that does not necessarily mean that you will have bad luck with this one. It's completely up to you whether you want to risk it though.

You might want to consider switching doctors. Your doctor really should go over the side effects with you before giving it to you.

I know - I didn't think about discussing the side effects until after I left the dr.'s office. Thanks for your insight.

I think you would have started feeling side affects by now, if you were going to. Wait, see how it goes, you ever know until you give it a good, solid try!

I have had more headaches, nausea and drop in sex drive since I first started on the ring. Also, has anyone had trouble falling asleep on it at night? For the last week when I try to go to sleep my heart is pounding and I'm fully awake. This didn't happen before. And no - nothing I'm stressed about. And I'm in the practice of being in the right mind-set to fall asleep (writing in journal and gratitude journal) so nothing new on the mind. Just wondering if anyone else had this side effect.
