I have been to the doctor and they ordered more blood tests, so I am looking for any other possibilities as to what may be going on.

Our 17mo. Old daughter has been fighting a fever for about 10 days. We have done the tyl./motrin dosages and it brings the fever down, but as the medicine wears off the fever comes back. No other symptoms with the fever though. She acts normal until the fever is highest, then she is grumpy ( I am to when I am hot) and a bit lethargic. Any ideas? The doc said everything looks fine and her urine was clear. We just want to have some idea of what we may expect from the lab results, if anything.

I'm sorry you and your daughter are going through this.

I am sure you have realized that the fever is not the problem itself, but is a sign of the illness. Fever is one of the ways the body uses to purge itself of the infection. Sometimes it is possible to let the fever run it's course and that solves the problem: keeping it down sometimes isn't the best solution. The important thing is to keep her well hydrated.

It is possible too that she could have some mild form of a disease or virus that shows no other symptoms, such as chickenpox.

Although I can't tell you what the cause is, here is a link that will help you understand about childhood fevers:
