I am a 38 year old woman. We've been trying to conceive for 5 months. I've used the Clearblue Easy ovulation predictor since we started, and have gotten a positive each month. I just had a blood test, which showed I had low progesterone levels (8.9), and my obgyn wanted me to start taking Clomid to help with ovulation. When I questioned the choice, saying I believed, based on the ovulation predictor tests, that I was ovulating, I was then told I could take Prometrium instead, to raise progesterone levels. My questions are: which would be better to take? How reliable are the ovulation predictor tests-I am getting positves, but does that actually mean I'm ovulating?
My husband has been tested and all his results came back normal.
thanks in advance
