I went to the doctor recently with a
painful lump in my breast. I was kindof
scared, but knew most cancerous lumps
aren't painful. The doctor told me it was
due to caffine. I usually drink coffee a
couple times a day, chocolate (which has
caffine in it), and soda. Apparently,
this can have consequences on your
breasts. I try to only limit my coffee to
once per day and that has helped
significantly. If I have more than one
though, I notice the tenderness in my
breasts. What he didn't explain to me is
can this cause or make you more suseptable
to cancer? What is it in caffine that
causes this? Has anyone else had this
problem??

It is believed that reducing the intake of
caffeine may have a beneficial effect on
tenderness and lumpiness of a women's
breast. Because some of the chemicals of
caffeine containing methylxanthines cause
the breast tissue to overstimulate thus
causing the breast to feel pain.
