Q: C-section

So i watched my first c-section today for my clinicals rotations.
I dont know whats worst having a c-section or having the baby normal.
They tie the stitches so tight it looked very painful.
But it was a great experience and the baby was so cute!
But i did hate that they talked about the patients so bad when they was put to sleep.

That's not very nice. I wasn't out of it, but if they decided to talk crap about me thinking I couldn't hear I would have beat them with my limp legs.

But really, people have stitches from giving vaginal birth as well....not quite as many, but I've heard they're painful. I didn't get stitches, they glued me shut. Shocked

Re: C-section
Well the lady was like i got my feet done for they can look pretty for yall.

So when they put her to sleep they started looking at her feet and was like i dont see where she got her feet done at and they was like look at the bottom of them nasty things.

And they just said she was a unfit mother and she need to give her child up. Just gossiping

She smoked through her whole pregnancy. I know thats horrible but nurses are taught to treat patients fairly and be compassionate and they made her cry before she went to sleep. I felt so sorry for her. But the baby did come out healthy.

And thats not the only surgery i seen. I seen like 20 others and they will talk about the patients so bad.

I healed pretty good actually. The incision itself didn't seem to hurt, it was the muscle around it...moving and stuff like that is what hurt. But it wasn't bad at all.

Do they have a reason not to believe you? They should investigate that either way.

It's True!
I must say that your experience is not unique. My wife was an O.R. tech for 3 years and they always talk about the patients. She worked at 4 different hospitals for alot of different docs and nurses and they all do it. I know it's harsh but docs. are people just like us. We all have something bad to say at one time or another. I agree they should be respectful, but to them- it's just another patient. It is their job-just like repairing a car or a leaky pipe- it gets monotonous to them. Just my 2 cents! Good luck with your studies and try to change the attitude you encounter when you're the one doing the cuttin'. Show compassion and hopefully it will catch on.

my mom has friends that were in a bad car wreck, the woman ended up dying after being in a coma for a while but when they first got to the hospital the doctor thought that the husband was asleep and he wasn't and the doctor was talking majooooor crap, im not sure what he said but he pretended to be asleep so he'd keep talking. the next day the doctor asked him how he was doing and he repeated like everything the doctor said about him ust in different words lol i think that'd be funny.

I know the Dr. that did my taibone surgery very well.

It's the ignorant Dr.s that talk sh't about patients.

NO respect. I don't think it's funny at all.

I'm sure many Dr.s do more than talk. They actually physically manipulate the patients. It's a sick thing.

I think you should report them anonymously. THey'd never know it was you. I wouldn't feel good knowing I didn't at least *try* to do something about it.

ANd the monkey see monkey do approach is not meant to be used on *Dr.s*!! They know exactly what they're doing/saying & they know it's wrong!

I've had 2 surgeries and to think that the Dr. could have *easily* been a scumball gossiping/groaping me..makes me nausious.

Uhhh I cant change my attitude because its so disrespectful. Im not going into the OR as a career I just had to do it for my rotations. How would you like it if someone was talking crap about you while your having surgery. I feel if you cant say it to there face then you dont need to say it at all. Well thats your opinion but im not going to be like that at all.
