I could be wrong (someone please correct me if I am), but my suggestion would be to start on day 1. However, because you allowed more than the 7 day placebo period, you will need to use a back up method of birth control for the initial 7 days to be protect agianst unwanted pregnancy.

Are you on monophasic or triphasic birth control?

You should definately start on day one. More pills in a month is better, less is bad.

You don't need to take any of the placebo pills. I never do; I just wait a week and then start up on a new pack on day 1.
