Q: Teeth At 3 Months...

My 3 month old has two bottom teeth coming in... I can feel them and I can see the tips... She screams in pain ( I thought it was gas pain until I noticed the teeth ), but her doctor told me she is too young for pain medication. She said the only thing I can do is give her a teething ring, but she isn't very good at holding onto things and putting them into her mouth yet, and I can't sit and hold a teething ring in her mouth all day.... What do I do!?!!? Is baby ambesol ok?

i don't know about ambesol but i know baby oragel is for 4 months and up. you can give her infant tylenol and instead of a teething ring i'd suggest freezing a wet washcloth, then you can just hold it for her and let her chew at it for a bit.

jeez.... another month of this!?!?!? I'm going to go nuts! How much tylenol do I give her?

MY SONS BOTTOM LEFT IS OUT ALREADY AND HE WAS 2 MOS AND 2 WEEKS....YOU CANT GIVE THEM ANYTHING BUT TEMPRA ...ORAL GELS ARE FOR 4 MOS AND UP ....

My daughter is teething too but nothing has popped through yet. She started right around 3 months & her doctor told me I could give her .8 ml of infant tylenol.. But it is different with every baby & doctor so you might wanna call her doc & just check with him/her before you give her anything. Also, I wouldn't even bother with teething rings, I have found those things to be pretty useless...Frozen washclothes work much better. Good luck!

you can't give a baby infant tylenol unless instructed by your doctor until 6 months old. they say you can give them to infants after shots but only for a 24 hour.

i gave amelia motrin with her teeth but only because my dr told me too. call your doctor and see what they say.

on the tylenol sight it says that under 24 lbs, and under two call the doctor, but whatever.

right, because they don't put the dosage for infants on the bottle. your doctor should give you a dosage chart that you can keep.

it's infant tylenol, it's made for babies.

Thats why i said tempra! its less confusing...my son weighs 15 lbs or so and takes 4-6 month dose because it goes b y weight and it seems to relieve some of his pain..actually it knocks him out!

hmmm maybe you guys dont have it in the states....its like tylenol but tis widely used here in canad..much more than infant tylenol...

but its made by mead johnson...they make enfamil milk...im not sure where it originates from.

reese is 3 months, i've used the orajel i cant see the harm just use VERY little.... hes getting teeth in on the bottom also

well, i figure they have these directions for a reason. i don't know why they say 4 months but i'm not going to chance it with my baby.

tylenol is safe from birth-thats what my son was given after circumcision. call your pharmacy for dose also the askdrsears website has dosing for everything under "medicine cabinet". motrin is safe for babies over 6 months.
ive never heard of that medicine either nancy, it must be a canadian thing.

also, i didnt know orajel says 4 months...i have the little teethers brand and it doesnt say that, i dont think.

my son had no interest in his teething rings until like 6 months. younger babies really have no idea what they are so you just have to wait a while with those.

thats what i thought, also it looks way to big for his mouth, when i put it in his mouth it looks like it pulls open his lips abit.
