hey, i'm in a really bad place at the moment it terms of mentality and i feel that there is no way that i will ever feel happy.

I'm constantly depressed and everybody is picking up on it around me and questioning me about it. I do no tknow why i feel like this but it is beginning to get on top of me and affect my life as a whole. I have contemplated suicide many times as i sometimes feel i would be better off.

It has been recommended to me that i have conselling but i am not sure if this will work because i don't know too much about it.

Has anybody had counselling? or are you a counsellor? i just need to know what i should do.

thanks

Yes counseling can be very helpful especially if you get cognitive training to learn how to help yopurself feel better. Learn how to catch the thinking errors you are making that cause depression and anxiety and counter those thoughts in a tea form thought countering exercise and you will start to feel better soon. If your health insurance won't cover cognitive training go to your library and read the book by sam obitz on overcoming anxiety and depression, it is an easy book and outlinbes the tea form exercise really well.

Counseling
Seeing a therapist can help you if you want it to. You see there are some people that "like" being sad and feeling sorry for themselves. Then there are people that actually are sick and need help. They can help you find out what exactly is causing you to feel sad and give you ways to help. Look into it. I have had Therapy and can honestly say it helps. The key is to go consistantly. Dont just stop because you think you are better or you are uncomfortable. Good luck. And just for the record, death is permanent, your condition doesnt have to be. You can be happy again.

Sure! Counselling is the best thing you can do. It helps you to see things differently and it also makes you feel better once you get the chance to tell what you think and feel to someone who bothers and to someone who can really help you. Smile
It can be hard in the beginning, but it will get better. Wink

I think counseling is good for sorting things out in your head, but I truley don't think it helps with depression at all. I went to a couple of counseling sessions and I didn't feel any better at all. What I do know 100% for sure is that Negative Emotional Release Treatment worked for me. I released all of my depression and anxiety in four treatments. I absolutely love it... I am so passionate about this treatment that I talk about it every day.. I try to find people that I know with depression or anxiety so I can help them out by telling them about it. Everyone that has gone that I know of, has also released all of their depression, and anxiety.. the one person had anger emotions retained as well, and they were released as well.

take care
