Hi, im currently an 18 year old student in a relationship. I have slept with 3 girls within my life and currently find my self with the sti 'genital warts'. I discovered that I had the virus during the end of novemeber 2006. I then went to a health clinic and had the warts frozen off. However, the doctor then provided me with a cream that burns away the wart once applied. I followed the creams treatment and the warts cleared up. However, the warts then appeared in a new area and so on. Then by half way through january the warts completely cleared up and I went back to the clinic and the nurse gave me the all clear and said I was able to start sleeping with my girlfriend again without protection as she is taking the pill. My girlfriend was also checked out by the clinic to was told she was all clear. Now about 3 weeks later the warts are starting to reappear. I have continued to apply the cream to burn the warts away but I don't know what step to take from here. Do I go back to the clinic or do I carry on using the cream.
Also how come the warts have reappeared?

Thanks for your advice

My understanding is once you have the virus, you have it for life as there is no cure. So you can make the warts go away using the methods you have used, but there will always be the chance that they will return.

It's probably just a stage... They will stop re-growing after a while... Or you should look for alternative medication. But consult your doctor first.

Re: Genital Warts Information?
I am 22 and i just found out i have HPV that has given me warts . i was always safe about haveing sex but my last partner cheated on me and didn't tel me so now i have to deal with this and he is in the clear . from what i have gained about this is that once you get them you are never rid of them they just kind of "hide" and when they shed is when they are most likly to spred . the virus is in the cells of the shedding warts ... they only thing i can say if you should use the cream and keep your eye on it and if it dose not get better take it back to your doctor . i recomend you have safe sex because you two could just be passing it back and forth with out knowing it . i just had the treatment to have them chemicaly removed and i have found that it did not work so my partner and i are going almost 2 months without sex it sucks i know but hang in there
