Q: Questions On Ankle Replacement

Hi,
i suffered a tramatic ankle fracture 7 years ago and have had 2 surgeries with a plate and 8 screws. I have developed djd or osteoarthritis. I am 49 and live in phila. Area. Went to Dr. Wapner last year at univ. Of penn. And was given option of brace, fusion or replacement. He told me to wait until 2007 as a new prosthetic would be available which requires the removal of less bone.

I really want to find the right surgeon and also want a second opinion. Was wondering if anyone had experience with Dr. Wapner or Dr. Steven raikin at rothman institute?
