On two occasions now, I have had this single, fine hair grow on my neck! It's about 5cm long!! Its very, very fine and blonde, I didn't even notice it until the light shone in a particular way while looking in the mirror one day.

I have also noticed a colleague had one very much the same the other day. I haven't said anything as I don't want to offend her.

I have tried looking up this strange occurrence on the internet, with no result.

Has anyone else had one of these funny hairs?! Does anyone know what it is, what its from? Its not bothering me, i'm just so curious!

yeh i have had it for years. they grow just randomly. im always feeling my neck to make sure there isnt one there. I pull them out and they only grow one at a time it seems. its really annoying. I have tried to research it myself with no results. I wish there was an explanation. Im glad im not the only one though

I've always called them wild hairs. I have black hair but a few years ago I found a fine, red-brown hair on my upper arm that was about three inches long. I plucked it but it grew back in the exact same place three times before I was finally rid of it. I also had one on my forehead just above my left eyebrow but I only had to pluck it once. I think those wild hairs are just the result of hormone fluctuations (which are natural).
