I have a retrovermian arachnoid cyst that is approximately 2 cm in diameter, as my mri paper tells me. I am going to a neurosurgeon should be within a week. As of right now it says it is now resulting in a "significant degree of mass effect upon the adjacent cerebellar vermis."

apparently my cyst is symptomatic though because of my daily headaches and chronic migraines, which have gotten worse over time. I have a headache usually once a day, sometimes none, sometimes two. And a few times a month I am getting serious migraines where it stops me from functioning. I am 18 years old and this really sucks. Anyone have any info on this or know of anything? I couldn't find much googling it.

I sincerely appreciate nay help anyone has to offer. It sucks being young and getting this stuff.

Arachnoid Cysts
Sorry to read about your arachnoid cyst. I was diagnosed with mine at 22. I had 11 brain surgeries in that same year. I created an Arachnoid Cyst Awareness forum in 2006 and would like to invite you to join. This is not spam. I just think you would benefit from a forum dedicated to arachnoid cyst patients only. arachnoidactivist.com
