I am in soooo much pain!! My right lower
abdomen has been hurting me for a couple
of weeks now... I have been to the
emergency room twice and they found
nothing! I am in so much pain that it's
hard for me to move... It's a sporadic
pain and it comes about every few minutes
and worsens when I move... My fil thinks
maybe it's an adhesion.... Any of you
heard of this?? I had a c-section 12
weeks ago.

Ive never heard of the adhesion, but I had
something similar to that a few years ago,
they couldnt figure out what it was but I
was in tears because of it (although for
the longest time they tought I was faking)
they took my appendix out and I felt
better, the doc said I probably had
chrinoc appendicitis
not saying thats what you have, just
giving you another idea as to what it
could be
anyway hope you feel better soon, and dont
trust hopitals they have to go so fast
they often times miss the simplest things

They gave me a cat scan and said my
appendix looked good....The only thing
unusual they found was a cyst on my
pancreas but thats not where I hurt.....

I'm sorry you've been feeling this way.
Unfortunatly, I can't be of much hlep. My
mom had an ovarian cyst rupture when she
was younger. It eventually irritated her
appendix and it nearly killed her. They
doctors initially wrote off the pain as
being from her cyst. If she hadn't been
so persistant, and went home when they
dismissed her she would have died. All
i'm saying is, even though it is not your
appendix now, if you start vomiting get
yourself to a hospital asap.

Thanks. I do feel nauseous... However I
just started taking new medicine for bowel
constipation (called dicyclomine) and I
think thats whats causing the nausea.

I went to the e-room on monday and they
gave me a cat scan. The scan didn't show
anything so they sent me home and told me
to call my regular physician. I went to
my doctor yesterday and she examined me
but it hurt so much when she touched my
abdomen that I screamed and started to
cry, so she called an ambulance and sent
me back to the e-room. They drew blood
and eveything was normal so they sent me
home... I don't know what else to do!
The e-room doctor referred me to a surgeon
to get an laproscopic procedure done...
The pain feels like a sharp stab and is
followed by a burning sensation. It
worsens with movement... What should I
do?

Being constapated can also cause pain.
Hopefully not the amount of pain your in,
just an idea. And I also wanted to add
that adhesions are suppose to be very
painfull. They are suppose to be similar
in pain to endometriosis. I think they do
a sonogram to diagnose that. I could be
wrong though.

I'm not constipated anymore. The surgeon
I am supposed to see said that the only
way to diagnose adhesions is through
laparoscopy. He said there is no
"indirect" (ie: cat scan, ultrasound,
x-ray) way to diagnose. On a scale of
1-10 the pain is an 8... I have a feeling
it's my apendix but the blood test came
back negative.

I have had a laporoscopy before. It
wasn't bad, I have two very small scars.
So try not to be worried if they do decide
that it would in your best intrest to do
that exploritatively (sp?). Did they say
anything about doing an endoscopy to rule
out anything intestinal? That is a less
invasive procedure.

I had a laperoscopy when I had my appendix
out, I got 2 little scars on my stomach
and one more in my belly button area...Its
not that bad but make sure you are careful
wtih it, I was pretty much incapacitated
because I wasnt takeing care of it
properly and doing too much and pulled a
mucsle then 2 of them (the belly button
one and the bigger of the 2 on the
stomach) got infected pretty bad
hope they figure it out soon

Adhesions are when scar tissue from
surgury bonds to internal tissues.
Because of the problems I had with my
incision healing I have a few adhesions.
Sometimes they are quite bad.
The best thing for them is gentle massage
and stretching this softens and stretches
the scar tissue so that it causes less
pain and restriction.
But be gentle - you have to allow your
body to heal properly so no vigourous step
classes or heavy lifting.
Slow controlled exercise like simple yoga
(don't go getting advanced) or just
sticking with some simple warm up/cool
down stretching exercises is the best and
take it slow and steady.

Well, i hope that they get to the bottom
of things. I have also had and endoscopy.
It is completely painless, and much less
invasive than a laporoscopy. Hope all goes
well!

What exactly is an endoscopy? Is that when
they stick the thing in your anus? I'm too
