You're only 15 so I actually wouldn't worry about it. You might not be old enough to retract the foreskin yet!! I agree, you should wait. I believe you always have confidentiality at the doctor's office. Doctors can look at your penis even if you were 8! Think about emergency shows where they cut the person's clothing off.

i wish i read this thread before my circumcision.. i had phimosis and consulted an highly reputed Urologist who told me that the only cure is circumcision. I did do some research on Internet before going to him ( was unfortunate never to have come across this thread) and also read the same in most cases.. so went through the surgery two weeks back and now i am almost recovered. However, i do feel that there is a lack of some thing.. something is missing and am planning tofind and follow any process of for regaining my foreskin once am absolutely comfortable with my new state.

If any of you can point to any such resource that would be great help.

also, as it is just two weeks after the operation I still refrain from masturbation but had erections occassionally ( mainly at night while sleeping) and found that my erection size seems to be smaller than what it used to be .. is this the case whenever you have a circumcision ?

i am sure your advice would be very helpful to many people and save them from circumcision.

Your erection size is probably smaller right now just because you're not actually trying for one. Once you do, I'm sure it will be as big as normal. A circumcision does not affect erectile size.

Hi...i just turned 18 about a month ago and just realized that i had this problem. i have been sexually active and it actually hurts when having sex, especially if she is on top, to the point that it sometimes gets in the
way and i have to stop.

its weird tho because i can retract the skin to expose the head all the way when flacid, just not erect...also i am never able to have an orgasm even after about 30-45 minutes of sex, could this be caused by phimosis?

so i think i might have the frenulum breve problem. i would like to go to the doctor but i still live with my parents so it wud be soo awkward telling them why i need a doctors appointment lol
-thankyou for your help

Yeah, it sounds like you have phimosis!! And why would it be awkward? They saw your penis long before YOU ever did, and they've had sex - they know all about penises.

mattcast, i think i'm in same situation.

1)it hurts when woman is on top;
2)too long sex (you are tired but can't finish it);
3)i have frenulum breve too...but i have the surgery tomorrow...i'm a bit afraid but it will help me, i know...

I suggest you to visit doctor without telling it to your parents (if that's possible)...

By the way I used method to cure phimosis like it was written on this site and it really helps (except for my frenulum breve).

If you can retract the foreskin when you're flaccid, there are minor treatments you can get to sort it out.

You may be prescibed topical steroid cream which is applied to the foreskin and gradually allows it to loosen out. Alternatively, you may get a preputioplasty which is a minor surgical operation which involves snipping a small section of foreskin.

Worst case scenario is a full circumcision which would involve a longer recovery but may ultimately be the best option if needed.

phimosis
im 18 and have a very tight foreskin which doesnt retract at all really. Can only pull it back enough to see top of glands. I also have a long scar on the underside of the penis, possibly caused by overstretching when i was a lot younger. I was wondering if people think the stretching method will work or if i should see a doctor.

You can always TRY the stretching method first: it can't hurt!!! If it doesn't show improvement as soon as you'd like, then you can discuss circumcisions with your doctor.

Hey um I think I have phimosis, I can retract the foreskin right down to the ridge of the glans except then it gets too tight and I think if I retract it anymore it may go into paraphimosis which isnt fun. When experimenting in the past when i have tried pulling my foreskin behind the glans it suddenly felt really tight as it was restricting the bloodflow and my glans started to enlarge luckily with abit of force on both occaisions i was able to get the foreskin above the glans. I've started stretching methods and it seems to be working well so far, any comments would be helpful thanks for helping me with problems id feel way to embarassed to talk to my parents about Smile

Just keep stretching, slow and steady. Because of how far you could get it before, stretching should be very successful for you! Also though, if you're a teen, your body may simply not be totally ready yet. The tightness speaks of phimosis though.

Be weary of paraphimosis as well. That can be considered a medical emergency. Don't force anything too hard.

This is perhaps a stupid question but what does "Once you have inserted one or more of your fingers, with the help of the other hand, stretch them laterally" mean? Not sure what laterally means.

"Laterally" means "to the side". It means to pull your fingers away from each other to the sides, keeping an equal distance between them. You also need to stretch vertically, which means up and down. You do the same thing as laterally, but instead of putting your fingers out to the sides, you pull one finger up and the other finger down at the same time.

I don't think it's likely, but the general rule is not to push it.

No, it can't happen when it's flaccid.
