I(age 15) have recently discovered that my dad(age 53) has been diagnosed with leukemia. I know that there are 4 primary types of leukemia, but I don't know which type he has. I know that he is being treated at duke medical center with arsenic trioxide. Is there any way you can tell me which type of leukemia he has and what his prognosis may be? Please be honest. Thank you in advance.
Sorry to hear that, matt. I hope and wish that your dad will be able to talk to you about his illness openly. I've found it to be more difficult to cope with difficult subjects like diseases when you don't know anything about it and people keeping information away from you than to being open to it and being informed.
if there is anyone out there having any information that could help matt,
p l e a s e let him know!
It's been more than 20years that I came across leukemia and therapy and prognoses have advanced since then. So I don't have any up-to-date info.
i wish you, your family and especially your dad all the strength and support you can get!
You certainly will grow with the experience.
