Q: Abnormal Pap Smear/ 10 Weeks Pregnant. Please Look

I am 10 weeks pregnant and I got a phone call saying that they found abnormal cells in my last pap smear. Has anyone had this happen before? The doctor scared the life out of me, because she is making this seem very urgent. I have an appointment in 2 weeks for a scolscopy. Can these cells be harmful to the baby, or could I miscarry because of it? Should I be worried about the babies health? I have never heard of this happening before.

I had the same exact thing happen to me when I was pregnant with my daughter. She is now 6 mos. Old. My pap also came back abnormal and they never have in my life before that! Well they scheduled me for a coloscopy also a few days later. It causes some cramping and bleeding but for the most part it's nothing major and your baby should be fine. Alot of times the cells turn out to be normal. Mine results came back fine but I was scared to death!!!!!!!!! I cried and cried thinking something would happen to baby and me. But everything was perfect! Just sit back and relax hun don't stress yourself out. A friend of mine also had this happen to her. They just act like its real urgent because if it was something they need to cure you of it before the baby is born.

Thank You So Much
Thank you for making me feel better. I was so upset when the doctor called, I didn't know what to think. I have just never had an abnormal papsmear before and only the worst thoughts were crossing my mind. I feel more at ease, so thanks :d

Yeah your welcome...I know how scary that is! It was like the longest week of my life waiting for results to come back. But let me know how things go. And good luck!

Peoples need help on this
We are recently united and are expecting our baby. During pre-natal, she did a couple of tests. She was called by NP and told her something she did not understand was not normal and was positive. She was not sure what it was and this has scared us to death. My efforts to talk to the doctor or OB clinic to get to know what was that has been unsuccessful because they want consent from her. What Can I do people, I am stuck. I'm praying to God for everything to be alright.
