I've been sick since last wednesday, I had a high fever and I was dizzy, as well as thursday. On friday I began to develop a sore throat/sore glands/pain when swallowing, and I also had a white tongue. I lost my voice completely on saturday, to the point where I couldn't produce any sounds whatsoever for several hours, but basically could not talk at all for 2 days. I also developed a cough and a stuffy nose. On saturday I was diagnosed with strep throat by a culture test, and right now i'm on day 4 of penicillin.

I was wondering how long it takes to recover? It feels like it's never going to get better. Painkillers don't help. Today, I had a white tongue again, which I guess I can attribute to the penicillin/lack of good bacteria? It's frustrating. I also started to get an "itching" at the back of my throat.

Also, whenever I get sick, I snore for some reason. With this illness, it's particularly painful because the vibrations from snoring seem to be in the back of the throat, which irritates my tonsils, etc and makes it much more painful.

Strep Throat
I will tell you that it will take at least two weeks. It takes time. My daughter was suseptiable to strep when she was a child. She would go on medication and right after she stopped it would start up again. Every two weeks until she grew out of it. Just hang in there. Wink
