I have not been officially diagnosed with lymphoma but I am convinced I have it. I have had several enlarged tender lymph nodes on the right side of my neck which were diagnosed via ultrasound in december. I thought I had them since january of last year but despite 3 different doctors examining my neck throughout the year, no one felt them. I have had a chest xray and blood work which was negative. I also had a fine needle aspiration of the largest node which also came back negative. Now for my question. I suffer from severe hypochondriasis and I have read that one of the symptoms of lymphoma is painful nodes after drinking alcohol. Although I am a regular drinker, I noticed that for the past 2-3 weeks, approximately 15 minutes after I drink alcohol, my lymph nodes become more painful and the pain will last approximately 15-30 minutes. Then it goes away and I can continue drinking without additional pain. I do not have any other symptoms such as fatigue, night sweats, fever, itching, etc. Has anyone with lymphoma had this symptom the same way I do? Since I am a hypochondriac it is very hard to distinguish between symptoms that are really there and symptoms which appear as a result of my being convinced I have a particular disease. Please help me with this. I am going out of my mind.
