Question my sister recently contracted chlamydia. Her boyfriend says he hasn't been with anyone else but its hard to believe. I've heard the disease can be dormant in men but wouldnt he have infected her as soon as he was infected? She made the mistake of not using condoms (stupid I know). My question ultimately is if she's been clear of std's up until now wouldnt that mean he was recently infected, and if thats the case then we can only assume he cheated right? I really need some answers as soon possible. Thanks.

hi Smile

argh. No condom?? Yeah, you are right- it was stupid. But- I used one, with the person I was with-- and condoms only protect one "thing" in particular, if the std[s] is on other "areas" you can contract it still. I did Sad

are you *sure* she hasn't had any other partners - unprotected - up to this point? Of course, if he was the one and only...Then she contracted it from him- obviously. He might have had it..And carried it along with no symptoms for awhile--but due to the pain in urinating...He would have to have the smarts to go get checked.

There's only two ways to get chlamydia- from birth--which doctors usually treat asap.. Or sexually. She contracted it from him.. And how he contracted it.. She will have to use her judgement on that one. If not treated with antibiotics.. Then yes it can be severe. Her partner has to obtain antibiotics too. He is too old to be a baby.. As your sister. Judging just off of that... Yes. He most likely has been sleeping around.

She's lucky it can be treated with antibiotics..And it wasn't worse.

Hope your sister is getting better- go beat his (_)_)!
